NaPoWriMo #18

The second poem written today.  Another Bea poem.

Bea Beloved Breaks

Cheers crossed the miles
to ring around your heart
like a nursery rhyme
not about the Black Death at all
it turns out
a dance
wispy refrain          a ghost of the years
Lost my partner   what’ll I
sing
if not the soft shimmer
your electricity alive
sweetness and struggle
to dance with breath and sunlight
while bitterness
watched
bad knees and miles
miles strung like kilometres aglow
in science, impossible is merely a challenge
in heart, it beats for two
to the echo of cheers.
